Stacey Lubell

Stacey Lubell passed away on August 10, 2022.

Sometime in the early 1960s a troubled teen walked into The Garret for the first time and took a seat by the fire. That meant Stace was my waitress. As she bent down to take my order she placed a hand on my shoulder. That simple, casual gesture of friendliness changed my life. As much as anything else it was Stacey's kindness when I needed kindness that brought me back to The Garret and set my feet on a path that led to more friendships and adventures than I can tell of here (I could write a book). I cannot overstate the influence of that one, casual gesture on my life.

Stacey and I eventually became friends and kept in touch over the years. I know she had a feisty, sometimes grumpy side, but nearly all my memories of her are of the kind, friendly woman I first met so long ago. Now there is a hole in my life where she used to be and she is sadly missed.
